Nukphonik is an established band playing for the past four and a half
years. Supporting world organizations such as the Mercy Ships, Doctors
with no borders to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. We’ve played the
Hermanus / Levi Original music competition in 2005 taking the award for
best performance and most original act. This opened doors to working
with Merchant Records producer, Helmut Meijer, on our song El Dorado.
Since then, Nukphonik is currently play listed on Heart Radio 104.9 FM,
Bush 89.4 FM and Radio UCT 104.5 FM with their songs Fiddler [Radio
release], Cape Of Storms [Radio release] and Song for Becca [Internet
release]. We’re in the process of releasing our next song called Fuel
for you on KFM.
Working with a list of established musicians and songwriters,
Nukphonik has attracted the likes of Mark Goliath [Jimmi Dludlu’s
keyboardist and co-producer for past few albums], lyricist, songwriter,
and vocalist, Nash Reed, currently taking radio by storm featuring on
Cape town’s own Buddha Bar version CD with the title song Only God can
judge me, played on GHFM and Heart radio among others, and her own
album release song Do what comes naturally and phenomenal Cape Town
drummer Kevin Gibson who also performs on Nukphonik’s song Fuel for
you. Charlton George is an established actor for the past 25 years,
starring various productions from radio theatre (Angels Everywhere, Die
Josef en Mary Affair ), Isidingo, Dollars and White Pipes and Ongeriewe
(film).
The bands album Bleeding in Bossa Nova, healing in Rock, part
one plays with genres of Bossa Nova, Jazz, Funk and Acoustic Rock
ballads. The CD was funded by entrepreneur, band leader, vocalist,
musician, songwriter and arranger Gershon Naidoo.
