The Spindle Sect is the Sci-Fi Eclectika brainchild of brother's Darren & Garreth Carikas. After the release of the acclaimed EPisode One(2003), the group took an extended break off the circuit to both collect, compile and record fresh material, as well as continue other projects (Apocalypse Cow, KillaEarFukaz and Eastern Robotics) 3 years in the making they are back now in true sci-fi style with a slammin' soon to be released new album titiled Animo City. Utilizing the brillance of Simian (Midnights twin brother) Snake Pliskin, Mr. oppstropolis, Suppasillious, Palestine and some other secret additions Keep posted for some previews to the album. Formed in 2002 by Darren and Garreth Carikas, a.k.a. The SciFientist and Cavin Chambers. Next recruiting Snake Pliskin, La Violencia (Julian Blaauw) and Misconduct (Inge Beckmann of Lark). Beginning as a five piece, four vocals, guitar and electro beats for the first year and a half, the Sect went on to woo audiences with there dynamic stage presence and in your face vocals over mesmerizing beats.

Taking it to the next level they employed turntablist JDL Quake (solo, Cypress Hill), drummer Damien Staz (Freshly Ground, Transky) and Bassist Yves Adler (7th Son). The sonic achievement of a larger more live lineup produced one of the best live acts SA had ever seen. The music transcended all boundaries with no discrimination.

In 2004 they released there independent, critically acclaimed debut EP, Episode 1. With rave reviews in all publications, 4 star achievement in FHM the Sect were ready to take on South Africa. But it was not to be. Yet.

A quantunm eruption of personalities and separate musical ideas brought the Sect to its knees, but some entities cannot be destroyed.

Chapter Two.

Summer 2006. Two years hibernation and The Spindle Sect start writing the debut album, �Animo City�. They decide to take the road less traveled with that same Sect sound but with even fresher Industrial, Electro, Rock fragments that have been pieced together in mind bending aural landscapes and honest production values. Passion has not been left out of the equation either. It just feels right.

The songs have transcended from the studio onto the stage in a magical way . Producing a live act that will take on the best in performance, presence and professionalism. The audience�s minds will be abducted by the Sci-Fi frequencies lashing out of the speakers, captured forever by the Sect Lords in anticipation for the next�
